Hello, my name is Kirsti Lilja-aho and I am the artist behind GIGLIOBEARS.
I have start making bears about 20 years ago
but really active since 2019.
My kids are a little bit bigger now
so I have more time for my bears.
Every bear that I make is one of a kind and I am using my own pattern. I love to work with different colours and most of my bears are very colourful. I use viscose and mohair.
You can find my bears on Facebook and Instagram and a few times in a year you can find me on an exhibition.

Hello! My name is Yulia, and I create Teddy bears
in a small workshop inside a cozy white house by the sea
in magical Montenegro.
Just behind my home begin the mountain forests, oak groves, and olive orchards. I grew up walking through these woods, imagining a fairy-tale kingdom full of elves, animals,
and forest spirits.
My bears are citizens of this enchanted Green Kingdom.
I love sewing them comfortable jackets with big pockets - for seeds, twigs, and tiny forest treasures.
Always with a hood - to keep thepine needles out!
Some of them I call Lords of the Forest. You can recognize them by their little acorn charm and a special label sewn into their jacket lining - marked with the ancient crest of their forest clan.
Each bear carries a spark of the Balkan mountains
and my deep love for nature.
If you love forests and fairy tales -
youll find a friend among them.

Bearly Treasures Handmade By Tacha ontstond in 1997.
Natasja Sels ontdekte het beren maken door haar grootmoeder die antieke poppen verzamelde en verkocht en daarmee regelmatig deelnam aan poppen - berenbeurzen.
Natasja kocht daar een doe- het-zelf pakket om een beer te maken. Een hele uitdaging, want zij had niet zoveel ervaring met handwerk. Nadat de 1e beer klaar was, was zij volledig gebeten door de microbe om beren te maken.
Gezien haar studies in de kunsthumaniora duurde het dan ook niet lang tot zij aan de slag ging met het ontwerpen van eigen patronen. Dit was een traject van ‘trial en error’ tot zij
uiteindelijk het patroon dat zij in haar hoofd had kon uitvoeren.
Dit is na al die jaren nog steeds niet veranderd. Natasja ontwerpt nog steeds haar eigen patronen en elke beer is nog met de hand genaaid en elk klein detail wordt zorgvuldig gekozen.
Natasja haalt haar inspiratie uit films, boeken, theatervoorstellingen enz, waardoor het lijkt alsof haar creaties uit een sprookjesfilm komen. Zo maakte zij al verschillende beren en andere creaturen uit ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘ Lord Of The RIngs’, ‘Roodkapje’ en ‘Kung Fu Panda’.
Elke keer begint Natasja met een blanco blad papier en begint te ontwerpen, soms duurt het jaren vooraleer het patroon eindelijk goed zit. Ze houdt ervan om verschillende technieken te
combineren. Natasja ging graag de uitdaging aan om iets te maken in het thema ‘ De Notenkraker’ en
kijkt ernaar uit om op deze beurs haar creaties met jullie te delen. Tot dan!
